The Elora House story is one of collaboration; it is the bedrock of who we are as an organization. We recognize – and ultimately, aim to complement – the many organizations and community partners that are working to combat sex-trafficking in our community. As such, Our team is comprised of a cross-section of community members and organizations.
The concept of Elora House stemmed from a local conference held by Guelph Police and Victim Services, Wellington, where access to safe housing was identified as a significant barrier for human trafficking survivors. From there, a dream was formed; a dream to offer not only safe housing for survivors, but a chance for a new life. A space that allows for transformation and restoration; for the hope of a life free from modern slavery.
